A year in Creative Recruitment: 2022

We all know the worst bits about 2022: Inflation. Increased energy prices, Matt Hancock on I’m a Celebrity…

But within our wonderful world of creative recruitment and design, there were many (many) positives. So break open a bottle of exquisitely-packaged champagne and toast to an extraordinary year in brand and creative design.

We should all count this year as a success

In 2022, we watched like proud parents, as our clients in design, brand & gloriously integrated solutions reacted to the year’s turbulence with grace and grit, working with obvious purpose, for good.

Hats off to our agency friends who embraced sustainability through tech and material innovation; and also those who received B-Corp certifications for their commitments.

The talent in our industry far outweighs the tough times we’re living through

Throughout the year, our clients continuously found ways to raise awareness for worthy causes – all the while managing existing projects and deadlines. Heartfelt passion projects a plenty; the soul of brand and design spoke loudly this year. Reconfirming that for creatives, adversity is simply an opportunity to learn, grow, and express oneself.

Our favourite moments of 2022 were the amazing agency collaborations that combined the best talent and thinking under one roof (you know who you are).  Seeing so many of our clients being awarded for their product innovation was pretty great too.

For Team Gabriele, the year was also a success. Our small but mighty team grew a little bigger (as did our connections and capabilities) and we’re prepped and eager to continue helping you grow and retain talent in the new year.

So, what did we learn in 2022?

  • If you take care of your employees and the agency takes care of itself.
  • Remote working isn’t going anywhere… And that’s a huge positive in our eyes. Removing time and location from the equation has opened opportunities up to great talent from outside of London and those who require a flexible working structure – and we’re here for it.
  • An open mind and consistent innovation are key in an increasingly chaotic world. This year, we stayed fresh and well-functioning by finding new ways to push forward internally and with our output.

Looking Ahead

We’re feeling positive about 2023

There is much to look forward to in the new year: A new wave of graduates for starters. We cannot wait to see the fresh ideas and perspectives they bring with them. We’re eager to see more fantastic work emerge from Edinburgh, Bristol and surrounding areas and watch as a scrappy start-up disrupts the status quo.

More product innovation, more tech advancements, social and environmental responsibility.

It’s guaranteed that excellent design is on the way. Despite the backdrop, business is booming and our clients are still very much hiring, just in a more deliberate way.

After the last 3 years, our resilience being in creative recruitment is at 100%. We know we can face any challenges that may arise and we’re very optimistic about 2023. We hope you feel proud of your efforts this year and share our excitement for the new one.
